Issue #105: Why most fat loss advice fails (and what actually works)

Hey Heart & Soil Tribe,

If you’ve ever struggled to lose weight, you’re not alone.

In fact, almost 70% of Americans are currently obese or overweight.

And you’ve probably heard all the same tricks before…

Been told 25 different ways to lose weight by 25 different people…

Told to eat low carb, high carb, low fat, high protein, or whatever you want so long as you restrict your calories…

Told to do fasted cardio, or none at all…

And told to eat 6 small meals a day or only one.

All these methods may have worked temporarily, but if they actually worked, you wouldn’t be here, would you?

The problem with these methods is they focus on weight loss and fail to address the most important issue: metabolic health.

Restricting calories may give you some quick results, but it’s not sustainable.

Most low-calorie diets fail long-term because willpower only lasts so long.

They can also lower your metabolism (leading to you burning fewer calories), and mess with your hormones (e.g. reducing testosterone and thyroid hormones, and  increasing cortisol).

But we do things differently around here.

We make health the priority, because when you prioritize your health, a leaner, healthier body inevitably follows.

So instead of counting calories, we focus on building dietary and lifestyle habits that will turn you into a radically healthy human.

Things like:

  • Diet quality
  • Sleep
  • Hormonal health
  • Stress reduction and relationships
  • Movement and maintaining muscle mass

This is how you set yourself up for long-term success.

So if you’re looking to lose weight, be reassured you are in the right place.

Or what about Janique?

She lost 42lbs in 6 months, but more importantly, she says:

“My energy levels have tripled. I feel better than I have in years! Eating as much as I want of quality grass-fed meat, raw organic dairy & organic fruit, I never need to count calories!”
