And best of all, we LOVE talking with you allā€¦

Are we Radical Health Seekers a little crazy?

You donā€™t need to be on your radical health journey for very long before people think youā€™ve gone a little crazyā€¦

Because YOU might think youā€™re being sensible in avoiding seed oils and eating 2lbs of beef every dayā€¦

But many people just see this:

It happened to me.

It was my senior year of college when I first tried animal-based.

For 30 days I stopped eating $5 pizzas, pasta, fruit loops, and beerā€¦

And ate ground beef, bananas, liver, and cheese instead.

My friends thought I had lost it.

My friends:

Also My friends:

I remember going to Burger King with them and they laughed when I ordered a burger with no bunā€¦

ā€œDude itā€™s bread, what you think bread isnā€™t healthy?ā€

They couldnā€™t understand why I wouldnā€™t eat just a teeny tiny piece of bread.

But those 30 days of animal-based literally changed my life…

And it reinforced the idea that if I wanted to be truly healthy then I needed to be willing to do ā€œcrazyā€ things.

Because we live in a time and place where the average person is overweight and sickā€¦

And doing the average thing is a surefire way to become an average person.

And this idea of ā€œeverything in moderationā€ may just be the biggest dietary fallacy of all timeā€¦

Because weā€™re not wired for self-control when it comes to food.

We never needed self-control in the food environment of our ancestors…

Yet drive a half mile down any town in America today and you have access to more tastes, flavors, and hyper-palatable foods than any King, Queen, Sultan, Pharaoh or Emperor from history ever had.

And as we become sicker and fatter from our food environment, the definition of moderation and normal is changingā€¦

What was considered moderation and normal 50 years ago would now be considered extreme restriction to many people.

And if you accept everything in moderation then you need to be willing to accept moderate outcomes.

So yeah, maybe we Radical Health Seekers are a little ā€œcrazyā€.

But that ā€œcrazyā€ might just be the secret sauce that allows us to be healthy in this actually crazy world of ours.

How we freeze-dry our organ supplements

In last weekā€™s newsletter we talked about the first step in making our supplements, regenerative farming.

So this week let’s take a look at the next step, freeze-dryingā€¦

It might seem high-tech, but freeze-drying is actually a very old food preservation technique.

Because the Incas in Peru were freeze-drying their potatoes as far back as the 13th Centuryā€¦

They stored them on the freezing mountain heights above Machu Picchu, and the water inside slowly vaporized from the low air pressure at high altitude.

Well we do something similar with our productsā€¦ except itā€™s a little more high tech šŸ¤“

There are four steps to our freeze-drying processā€¦

Pretreatment āž”ļø Freezing āž”ļø Primary drying āž”ļø Secondary drying

During pretreatment, the organs are cleaned, inspected, and passed for entry into the food chain.

The next step is freezingā€¦

But this isnā€™t like making animal-based ice cream at home.

Because we rapidly freeze the organs at extreme temperatures (-58Ā°F to -112Ā°F)…

This prevents the formation of large ice crystals, which would otherwise damage the organs and the precious nutrients inside šŸ˜Ž

Next up is primary and secondary dryingā€¦

And again, this isnā€™t like drying your underwearā€¦ itā€™s a little more high-tech.

We use a special form of drying known as sublimationā€¦ šŸ¤“

And this means the water in the organs goes directly from a frozen solid to a gas without ever becoming liquidā€¦

We know, we knowā€¦ itā€™s like something straight out of the X-Files, right? šŸ˜…

Finally the organs are carefully ground into a fine powder and placed into the gelatin capsules we know and love so well:

Check out this incredible animal-based transformation from Evan:

Well Holy Beef Liver Evan!

Weā€™re not sure where you live, but is it Shredsville by any chance?

Evanā€™s animal-based adventure has rewarded him with a LOT more than just visible abs though:

ā€œThe list of improvements to my health is incredibly long, including:

– the cessation of my 10 years of depression & anxiety;

– Ankylosing Spondylitis;

– GI issues;

– Asthma;

– Insomnia;

– and ADHD.”

Evan said he eats a simple, seasonal animal-based diet. He gets his meat from a local farmer, and this is his favorite organ stack.
